Why Marketing and Product Design?
At heart, I’m a consumer. Growing up in Los Angeles, I was obsessed with every corner of arts and media, and I couldn’t just watch it. I had to make it!
I started as a kid animating cartoons for my amateur YouTube channel, moved into fine arts, then picked up a camera and fell in love with filmmaking in high school.
In college, I found marketing. It felt like a natural extension of everything I’d been making, where I could follow my gut and tell stories that pull an audience in. Not long after, I stumbled into product design, and it flipped that around, asking me to step out of my own head and see the world the way someone else does. I realized I’d been chasing the same thing from both directions: figuring out what clicks with people.
Now I’m finishing my degree in Advertising at USC with a minor in User Experience. Between building with startups and marketing films at major studios, I’ve learned that great work starts by thinking like the person on the other side of it. Being a consumer first turned out to be my best training.
